  1. I have a bunch of RMVB files and I am unsure of how to convert these to a file which I can then burn to a dvd which I can play on my home dvd player. Basically I am asking two questions:
    1. What file format do files need to be in to burn them to a DVD so it will play on my home dvd player and
    2. How do I convert a RMVB file to this type of file.
Thanks for any help you can provide

A regular, not Divx compatible, DVD player uses the DVD format. Look to the upper left on this page for 'WHAT IS' DVD for the format and specifications.

RMVB is particularly hard to convert to DVD., especially without having sync problems. You can try SUPER or there are a few programs like ConvertXToDVD that might be able to convert it. Depending on the type of software you have for making dvds, it might allow you to input rmvb files to make the dvd. If not then you probably want to convert to mpeg, avi, or wmv. Some programs that could allow for this are these.
