  1. Hi,

I've been using TMPEGEnc 2.5 and VirtualDub (to extract audio) for years now to convert AVI captures to VCD format followed by burning to CD with Nero. Thought I'd ask if any better tools or methods have come along to make this easier or faster.

Given the inexpensive cost of blank DVD's, I'd consider converting from AVI to DVD as well as an alternative (I saw some references to DVD Flick for example).

    Thanks!

  3. Thanks for the reply! I've downloaded and installed DVDFlick and run 1 conversion through it. I still need to burn the DVD and check out the results.

If you don't want to shock your system too much, and to gradually ease into the increased quality that comes from moving away from the VCD format, you could try FAVC. It can create DVDs using VCD, SVCD and DVD resolutions.

FWIW, DVD media has been very cheap for quite come time.
