I can't figure out if it is possible to make a DVD that has chapter markers. Is it? Even if they are semi random, like every 10, or 5 minutes.
Try StreamFab Downloader and download from Netflix, Amazon, Youtube! Or Try DVDFab and copy Blu-rays! or rip iTunes movies!

ffmpegX's DVD encodings do not have chapter markers. You'll need a third party program to add those markers, although it should be on major's to-do-list for ffmpegX.
Toast will generate them every 5 mins for streams without markers, or preserve them if present.
DVD Studio Pro would be the prosumer way to add chapters.
