Just wondering if anyone has run HD content using an SLI setup... specifically Nv 7xxx series, and if SLI does anything for improving playback performance of any HD content HD DVD Blu Ray etc.?

Either a card supports HD playback or it doesn't, SLI is unnecessary. Unlike gaming, video has fixed fps requirements.

Thanks for the response... so then an SLI setup wouldn't help in off loading some of work from the CPU either right?
no, playing HD it's not that intensive as encoding it
