Hi all appreciate help if it can be given.

I have a toshiba sd-370e player and it dont matter what i burn (divx files) and what speed i burn them at they tend to pause for a second maybe 2 during playback. Can anyone suggest what sort of cd media is best or burning software or is this a common problem? and if possible what is the best way to try and resolve it.

    Burning software: Nero 6
current cd's:tdk though have tried others

    Thanks .

Current setting on dvd player is 720p not sure if that makes a difference.

There are several possible causes. First thing you need to do is download Gspot and analyze your Divx files. It depends on the chipset your DVD player uses for Divx playback and I do not know which chipset the Toshiba uses, but the following can be problems on some DVD players for Divx playback.
    1) QPel (quarter pixel)
    2) GMC (global motion compensation)
    3) Packed bit stream
    4) Resolutions greater than 720x576
    5) Video bit rates higher than 2000 Kbps. If your audio is anything other than MP3 (AC3, DTS, LPCP), you may need a much lower video bit rate to get it to playback correctly. You may have to go as low as 1500 or even lower.

Taiyo Yuden and Verbatim are generally best for CD media. While it could be your media, most likely your problem is in 1-5 that I described above. Packed bit stream can be fixed without re-encoding via MPEGModifier. The other 4 require you to re-encode the file to get rid of the problem.

Regular pausing, or just once or twice a disc ?

I burn divx files to Verbatim or TDK DVD-R discs as data using Imgburn and do not have any problems with playback.

Build mode. Select the files I want, and hit the big Burn button
