    Man I hate Matroska!!! Got a 4GB+ HD Matroska file I want to burn(yes it's an actual MKV file according to Gspot) to DVD-R.I don't want to re-encode to DVD just be able to back up the MKV file onto DVD-R.Thanks for any help!

    so what's the problem? burn to dvdr as a data file. if you don't know what that is try imgburn in build mode, add the file in the window and burn.

    Duh,I can burn the file as a data UDF disc but the dvd-drive makes a most nasty sound when I try to open the disc.I'll burn it again for giggles.First time I burned a 4GB+ HD MKV file,I was just wondering how other people did it.

    You hate matroska because of dvd burning problems? THe file content has nothing to do with how data dvd burning works.

    Could you explain exactly what happens? and what burning tool are you using? Nasty sound doesn't sound good.
