I'm trying to burn some videos using WMM.
The vidoes I am trying to burn in are WMV format. This is a format that is supported by WMM.

When I go to save my project, I get this error message:

"Windows Movie Maker cannot save the movie to the specified location. Verify that the original source files used in your movie are still available, that the saving location is still available, and that there is enough free disk space available, and then try again."

I know the files are still available because I have not deleted them. I am trying to save this project to my C drive. There are about 20 gigs of free space on my HD.

To test this out again, I decided to just burn a 6 minute video. I still get the error message.
I've done this before (burn videos to DVD) but this is the first time I get an error message.

    Any suggestions?

  2. Are the original files on an external drive? If so, has the drive letter changed for it?

  4. Have a look at:

(The cause seems a bit stupid, but....)

Yeah, I saw that too. I tried to google a fix for this but came up short.
It's only a video 6 minutes long I'm testing and it is not working.
The format of WMV is ok because it is a supported format per WMM.

Could my WMM be corrupt? If so, how would I know and how can I correct it?

    No, problem is still there.

I think the problem is the format am I trying to burn.
The videos are downloaded in WMV format using SDP Downloader.
I can drop them in WMM no problem. I get no error messages about the format.
Now when I go to save project, that is when I get the error message.

Now not knowing much about this, although they are d/led in WMV format using SDP,
is it possible that they are not "true" WMV? Not sure if that even made sense...

try updateing WMP, I'm not sure why this works, maybe something to do with codecs ? or maybe the two programs share some other windows files like DLL's , BUT sometimes update WMP fixes problems with WMM
