PC: Dell 9150
OS: Windows XP Pro
Software: VLC media player 0.8.6c
I used VLC media player 0.8.6c for months. It worked perfectly. I can click different (or, even same) movie files (.iso) and VLC will open different windows and play the movies separately, at the same time.
But recently, if I click on the second movie file, the first movie on the first VLC window will stop, and the same window will play the second movie instead. No more multi VLC windows available.
I uninstall VLC, clean up the preference and registration, then re-install VLC. But the condition does not change.
Can anybody help me to solve this problem??

Sure you can!.. start VLC open first clip, minimize if you wish but no need to, start VLC again open second clip......both will play....
"I typed the word Google into Google. Guess what came up? Everything."
"What we've got here is failure to communicate"
I think this will take care of the problem:
Go to Settings -> Preferences -> Advanced. Tick Advanced Options in the lower right hand corner. Disable the One Instance When Started Fome File option.
Thank you very much.
After 'Disable the One Instance', everything runs normally.
Glad to hear it worked for you. I was pretty sure it would but didn't want to make VLC my default player in order to to test it out!
