First, does the structure that DVD Shrink creates play in sync before you convert ?

Second, did you edit the file in Shrink, or just use re-author to strip it down ?

Third, in the avi file, does the audio stay in sync and drift out over time, or is it out by a constant amount ?

Fourth, have you tried AutoGK for the conversion ?

And the reason? great proggie IMO! but to each his own..
Try a diff proggie (e.g. FairUse Wizard (there is a very good free one), or Handbrake.

  6. I don't rip using DVD Shrink but I do sometimes run into audio sync problem too doing DVD to DivX, usually after ripping DVDs that contained extra nasty copy protections.

What seems to solve my DivX audio sync problems is in DVD Shrink (doing movie only):

    Re author
    Set Start/End Frames
Click the forward button for start frame until I get past the plain, black frames.
    Click OK
    Save
    Encode DivX /XviD from that.

I don't know why it works, I just know that it does for me.
