  1. Hi,

How to convert AVI with DTS audio to DVD (VOB or MPG) format with MP2 audio? I tried TMPGEnc, ConvertXDVD and Super . None of them worked.

    Please advice.

    Thank you,
    Jean

    Mats,

I'm not sure what you mean. But I just noticed something strange. I was replying the tread "Video Converters that supports most video formats, RM, FLV, WMV, MOV, MP4". Don't know how it becomes a new tread. If that is what you mean by hijack, I apologize, but I don't know what happened. Hope that this post will not generate a new tread again.

    Thanks,
    Jean

It became a new thread becase you hijacked a thread and a moderator split your post off to it's own thread.
Hijacking is taking over another thread with stuff not strongly related to the original topic. Either it's off topic or too far removed from relation. And so on.
I'm sure someone else can better define the term.

Your post is not related to video format.
It's for the most part an audio processing enquiry.

    Interesting beast you have there.
What do you play it back with?

i'll assume a safe demux possible with something like avimux-gui.
    Then,
why mp2? No reason not to go with ac3. Preferable.
Use avisynth with nicaudio to import dts audio with nicdtssource(),
and encode with aften to ac3 (or toolame for mp2).
Behappy is a nice frontend to simplify the process.

kill audio processing in mpeg2 encoder

    Thank you for your explanation.

The reason why I need to convert to mp2 is that my favorate DVD author tool: TMPenc DVD author can't play AC3 audio. That is a good tool to edit DVD (such as adding chapter at right place). I don't know if there is better tool for that -- so I don't have 2nd choice in terms of audio format.

    Of course you have choice.

No need to change if you are comfortable.

    Mats,

I'm not sure what you mean.
What I mean is: If your post is not a reply to a post already in the thread - Start a new! This time, I split your post out, as a separate thread, as it AFAICS had very little to do with the posts in the thread you posted.
