I have wanted to know for a while now, I would usually just take the normal .sub or .srt file and hardsub it with some other program like Virtual Dub Mod, AutoGK or AllToAVI if I wanted it done fast.
For example, right now I have an .mkv with stylized subs. It is a pretty basic .mkv, nothing special or complex. I have a .avi video stream, an audio stream and 2 subtitle streams, a .srt and a .ass
I want to make this all into a single .avi video and I want the subs to look exactly like they do on the .mkv so how do I go about this? What programs should I use?
Try StreamFab Downloader and download from Netflix, Amazon, Youtube! Or Try DVDFab and copy Blu-rays! or rip iTunes movies!

Extract the .avi file and the .ass subtitle from the mkv container,
then use VirtualDub or other application to re-encode.
