I'm bringing up my first Vista Ultimate (Core2Duo) machine. I can capture DV format in Windows Movie Maker but not with WinDV (my old friend).
Does anyone have WinDV working under Vista?

Thread: WinDV under Windows Vista?

Have you tried the usual Vista hacks:
Run it in 'compatibility mode'
Add it to the exclusion list for DEP (data execution prevention)
For some reason, Vista Ultimate (and maybe Business) uses a different default for the DEP option than the "lesser" flavors of Vista. I've run across this with some of our software.
(I'm sure I've tinkered with WinDV on Vista but it may have been one of the four or five other OSes on that same machine!)John Miller
