Hello,

I own a Panasonic DMR-HS2 and every time I put a disc in it, be it blank or a factory DVD release, I get a U11 message. When I try to record on a blank disc the machine tells me the disc is not blank and incompatible. Does anyone know what is wrong and is there anything I can do to fix this?

Sounds like the disc sensor is dirty or faulty. You could try blowing out the unit with canned air, especially around the drive tray and laser. You could also try unplugging the unit for 30 minutes or longer to see if it will reset.

Otherwise, it's time for the repair shop if it is under warranty or replaced if not.
