I am using Ulead DVD Workshop 2 but it is CRASHING when I set more than 4 chapters on my single 2hour / 4GB MPG title source file.

I need the 2 hour source file as I have a 2 hour audio file to attach to it (a commentary).

I tried attaching the commentary then "cutting" the 4GB source MPG into pieces - 2 problems 1) that crashes as well 2) it doesn't cut the audio file - each clip starts playing the 1 commentary file at the start.

I am using a 1 year old Dell VAIO SZ220 with 1GB RAM.

Any ideas on how to stop Ulead from crashing?

Any other programs I might use (need merge the MPG with my commentary WAV file, to add chapters and create a menu).

Well a couple of things .

When was the last time scandisk was run , followed by defrag ?

To cut it into piece's you could try http://www.squared5.com/svideo/mpeg-streamclip-win.html

You "2" issue is weird .

If you can output the mpeg clip as mpeg with the audio included , then do that instead .

Grab batchdemux from dvdauthor's website , or use mpegstream clip , to demux the mpeg .
Use besweet to convert audio to ac3 ... smaller file will result , but do not set to 64kbs or lower .

    Then

    ----

    Chapters :

Load m2v up via virtualmod .
    Open notpad
Move the button on the time line forward till first chapter point is located .

Use left or right arrows for fine frame adjustment

Below time line is a box displaying frame's number
Use mouse to highlight , and copy
Paste in notepad and hit enter

Repeat till all chapter points located .

    Close virtualmod when done
Save text in notepad as celltimes.txt

    Launch rejig
    Select author
    Load m2v , then ac3 , followed by celltimes.txt in the appropriate area's

Select output folder , and let it rip

Done , basic title with 4 chapters .

    ----

If you want menu , check out my guides , one use's dvdauthorgui and show's the chaptering part .

Just out of curiosity, is your HDD formatted as NTFS or FAT32 ?
