  1. Hi All,

I need to record some basketball tournaments in a couple of weeks, and I would like to rent one of the following camcorder, but I not sure which one is the best one to shoot indoor for a basketball game?

    Any suggestions?

    Canon XL1 (Mini DV)
    Canon GL1 (Mini DV)
    Canon GL2 (Mini DV)
Sony HVR- A1U Pro HD (Mini DV)
    Canon ZR500 (Mini DV)
    Canon ZR45 (Mini DV)

I also have the following software ....

    Sony Vegas 7.0e
    Dvd Lab Pro 2.11
    Img Burn
    Adobe PhotoShop Cs2
    Virtual Dub

    Thanks.

    Matt

  2. Well I have a GL2 and that works quite well in low-light. 20X zoom so you'll have plenty. Here's a smaple of low light shot:

    These are consumer models:
    Canon ZR500 (Mini DV)
    Canon ZR45 (Mini DV)
The GL1 is not going to be as good as the GL2 and the XL1 is older model too but is probably better than the GL2 but more on the pro side. Might be a little overwhelming if you're unfamiliar with using a cam. It will most definitely have more options.

As for the Sony I'll assume that's a HD cam and if you're unfamiliar with what you're doing it is probably best avoided.
