avi to dvd converting settings for winavi convertor

hi i am new to this form this is a wonder full site thanks for helping

i am using winavi convertor

i want to convert dvd to avi in 700 mb

could any one plse tell me the settings like frame rate and pictures size what should be used while converting with good quality in 700 mb

or if there is any good convertor for dvd to avi pls let me know with seetings

For DVD to AVI (Assuming Xvid or Divx), AutoGK or FairUse Wizard. FUW may be the easiest. They both have freeware versions.

AVI to DVD, ConvertXToDVD or one of many standalone MPEG encoders..

The bitrate depends on the length of the video. You can use a bitrate calculator to see what the bitrate for a desired file size will be. Bitrate calculators: https://www.videohelp.com/tools/sections/bitrate-calculators

Just for example, I'm converting SVCDs to Xvids at present. I use about 1100Kbps with a framesize of 640 X 480, along with a deinterlace filter. These come out at about 800MB average. At 1000kbps, they would come out closer to 700MB. I convert the audio to MP3 CBR 44100kHz, 128kbps Stereo.

thnaks i tried the fuw i used dvd dcerypter and created an 1so file after i used fuw and after going to step3 i am getting a error messae

the dvd could not be converted

How much space do you have on your disk drives ?

Do you have Xvid installed ? (note : I'm not asking can you play back Xvid files, I am asking if you have the Xvid codec installed)

yes i installed xvid codic 1.1.3

and i have 40 gb free space in my hard disc
