divxmuxgui would write subtitles to play on wmp but not on vlc

I just dont know what mistake I am doing ?

I have the xsub and avi/divx file but divxmuxgui wont write subtitles to the video file ?
What mux mode should I chooose ? any help ?

I even tried with srt files. The final output could be played on wmp and classic windows media player with subtitles but without subtitles on vlc. It would not play at all on my divx hardware player. The reason is obvious if you see the output video file details.

I guess divxmux failed to open the avi file. I encountered this situation sometimes.

If it is really the case, i think you can open the avi file with virtualdub or avidemux and save it as another avi file (direct stream copy). in my case, divxmux tends to work well with the new avi file created above.
