Why won't my VTS_01 file work on windows movie maker?

I used VOB2MPG which is a great program, but it wont work on windows movie maker. Why not? I can only use it as an audio file, but it still doesnt even work (no sound....stupid). PLease help.

WMM is a simple program. It prefers WMV or DV avi files, although XP SP2 includes a major update to it which expands it's abilities somewhat. Your profile says oyu are still on SP1, so you may not have the update. You can download the update separately here : http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/downloads/updates/moviemaker2.mspx - it probably requires WGA validation.

Your other choice is to convert the file to DV avi and go from there, or to use a dedicated mpeg editor instead of WMM.
