How to repair a recovered 3gp file??

Good day lads..

Needs some help with a .3gp file; which i deleted of my phone ; but which i have recoved with some recovery software.. Now none of the programs (Nokia player ; VLC ; Quiktime) will play it.. Its probably damaged.. Can somebody advise what to use to fix something like this??

I really need those files...

I don't think you can,

maybe if you used a HEX EDITOR program and compared the first part of tha damaged file with the first part of a good file, you edit the damaged file to correct the header info

the header info typicaly gives the file size, the bitrate info, the file name , and file type , and where the file itself actually starts

in the past I have edited bitmap files and jpegs, and other file types (but never any video files) to put custom wallpaper on a phone that didn't have the option of importing any ( lg 3200 )

create an edit a special bitmap file to overwrite the existing file in the phone.
