    Need help with connecting a combo vcr/dvd recorder to TV through cable box - TV has picture - in - picture feature with signal splitter required. Not sure if my current setup is right, as some remote control buttons do not work, like dvd record speed. This unit is a refurbished Symphonic - SR90VE. Any help appreciated!

    Typical connection order is as follows: cable box > VCR/DVD Recorder > TV.

    The remote working/not working should have nothing to do with how the equipment is connected.

    So the real question, is what is really wrong?
