    hey all...
    im transfering some Hi8 tape to my Macbook/iMovie and have gotten a bunch of overscan area on the footage...does anyone know good, free software for dealing with this on OS X and/or iMovie? i found a couple masking programs...is it possible to simply crop out that part? what are other options? anyways, let me know. thanks!

    Do not crop. You'll stretch and distort the image.

    Mask it. This means cover up the extra are with black.
