Avoid the very cheap ones and the most expensive, such as Monster or similar. After all, it is just a piece of wire.

For specific brands, I go for Belden or other major cable manufacturers. But even with the cheap cables there's very little, if any difference, in signal quality unless you are making long runs, over 4 - 5 feet. Avoid the 'hype' of some cable sellers. What you want is a flexible cable, with good quality insulation and good connectors. You can find both with inexpensive cables. A good quality single three foot RCA cable should be less than $10US.

    3ft?

You seem to be selecting for beauty. Most any cable will work for 3 feet (1 meter). What are you connecting?

I don't agree with the "wire is wire" philosophy. I know I can hear differences in clarity, bass, smoothness, etc. between various cables.

"the best audio quality possible" usually equals a high price.

I've been using Signal Cable's Silver Resolution which are excellent but most people would balk at the steep price. They have other less expensive cables which are almost as good. And they have a 30-day return policy and lots of positive reviews.

I'll agree to disagree. If you want higher quality use line level low impedance 600 ohm balanced XLR connections and forget using Hi Z unbalanced with RCA connectors. Spending a lot on high impedance RCA cables is like putting a 12 coat gold paint job on a Geo Metro. Consumer audio is consumer audio.

    A quick ref.

This cable has all the premium features you might need and may be overkill for 3 ft.

Special features like double shielding come into play for long (> ~12 ft) runs. For very long runs, consider stepdown transformers to 600 ohm.
