    I need to convert dvd into avi!not xvid or divx!I need a converter that will do this, so it will allow me to import the videio into adobe premiere!!!!Can Anyone help please??Thanks, Scott.

    Avi is a container of audio+video. Video can be compressed using xvid o divx codec. 99% of the video that is inside an avi is compressed with one of these.

    VirtualDubMPEG2 and a DV codec like Cedocida or Panasonic DV codec.

    i have tried this, but premiere dosent allow xvid or divx encoded files!

    You should be able to frameserve the DVD video from Vdub right into Premiere with no need to create an intermediary AVI. Check out the guides...
