So are you going to go see Transformers? I will for sure. Especially now that I found out the original voice actor for Optimus Prime - Peter Cullen - will in fact be doing his voice for Prime.

I am a little scared that its going to be too different from the original first gen cartoon. But I imagine it should still be fun enough for a two hour movie.

    How about you?

I'll probably watch it if it comes on broadcast TV or if my Sister-In-Law buys it for her kids (and I watch it with them), but I won't be spending any money on it.

Rented Season 1 from Netflix. What a corny show! I thought it was so cool back then. :P They have it on the IMAX so I need to see it on that screen, if anything for the special fx!. I don't expect much plot wise so I won't be disappointed there.

Waiting for it to come on dvd. Cost to much to take the family to the movies..(wife and 2 kids). Rather spend the money on the dvd and watch it from the comfort of my house.

I do realize it's hopeless to think that my non-participation as a movie goer will mean jack squat out there, but I'd rather undergo vasectomy via Weed-Eater than sit through another Michael Bay movie.

    Exactly.

It was action packed, funny, and very story driven. It didn't wander all over the place, like some adaptions (comics/tv shows/sketches-to-movie). Bernie Mac and Anthony Edwards had small roles, so their brand of goofiness fit in, rather than take away from the movie. I'm not a big fan of Labouf's "acting" style (I'm looking at you too, Justin Long), but they reined him in enough for it to fit and compliment the story.

The special effects were fantastic. I knew they could do some great stuff after seeing that Citroen ad way back when. Really well blended in. They really seemed to have a handle on the cgi/live-action mix.

The creative liberties that they (had to) took with the design of the characters were nicely done without destroying the roots of the characters (unlike, say, Godzilla USA).

I give it a thumbs up.

I just got back from seeing it. GREAT!!!

I knew i was going to like it as soon as Peter Cullen did the voice over intro! I'm so glad they used him for Prime. It just wouldn't be the same without him.

I tell you GM got one hell of a deal for advertising with this movie didn't they? Wow.

Also - anyone who saw the previews - was that a godzilla trailer in the middle there? You know the one that showed a city and an explosion then you heard a roar and all it said was 1-8-08. Was that a godzilla roar?? Is it a sequel? Is it a toho sequel or a sony sequel? Either way I'll probably go see it. All the other previews with the movie were trash....

I thought the movie was ok. A bit too long. Some really unfunny scenes , an annoying little transformer robot and some nice action and special effects. I give it 3 out of 5 stars.

    YES!
I got up this morning with the intention of going to the 0910 showing, but my kidneys have been acting up lately.
I don't want to ruin everybody's theatre experience by suddenly screaming in pain because a stone decided it was time to descend and force it's way through my urinary tract......
Hopefully I'll go to the showing tomorrow morning!!!
I figure the earlier I go, the less likely there will be a ton of people and/or kids.

That is supposed to be a new movie by J.J. Abrahms, code-named Cloverfield. No one knows for sure what the final movie will be but rumor has it that all the footage is going to be Blair Witch-style and some major special effects added in. It's supposed to be about a monster/alien attack on NYC from the POV of the average joe.

I sure hope it's NOT a Godzilla USA sequel. The first one wasn't even remotely like the original ones. Sure, they wanted to make something "different" they sure accomplished it. Doesn't deserve to have the Godzilla name attached to it.

    Saw Transformers yesterday morning.
    IT KICKS ASS!!!!!
Very dissapointed with the choice of voice actor for Megatron though.
Peter Cullen IS Optimus, but Gary Chalk would have also been an excellent choice.
David Kaye should have been cast as Megatron.

    Can't wait for the sequel!!!
