    i think i need a firewire cable for me to get my movies onto dvd, but am unsure about which type. is it a four pin or six pin one i need??

    you will need a 4pin on the camera end and 6 pin on the computer end of the cable.

    Unless your computer is a laptop, in which case it may well have a 4 pin at that end too.
