I got an video in .AVI.

I can Movie Maker 2 to capture the audio from the video.
Now I want slice the audio into many pieces, but this software doesn't have the right tool.

Is there any free tool to split up the audio from the video file? Like cut the audio into piece and allow me to save as .mp3?

I know Adobe Premiere can do this but I don't have this software.

Demux the audio using virtualdubmod, then cut it up using Audacity. You will need the free LAME MP3 encoder as well to save it as mp3.

Most AVI files seem to use MP3 sound.

Use Avicodec or Gspot to be sure.

Anyway, if so demux the AVi (eg using VDub as gunslinger suggests) then use MP3DirectCut to slice up the MP3. This operates on the MP3 without having to expand and recompress, so there is no quality loss.
