When loading my AVI into AVI2DVD, I get this message, why is this and why it is converting the file to another AVI?
Just need some more clear directions to make sure I'm headed the right path.

It's trying to go to an intermediate uncompressed file. A huge file.

Try using DVdate to change the DV type to type2.
    Then load again.

    Otherwise consider another tool really.
Unless you have the space and don't mind an extra step...

    Ok then, thanks.
Is it just this utility that will do this? or I will have to always convert to AVI Type2 before going to MPEG-2 ?

I was just trying to convert my DV AVI into MPEG-2.

Gee, so many convertions....I guess I still have a lot to learn.
