Got spammed at my videohelp.com email addy

I use a different disposable email address for every site that I've registered with. Today I got spammed at the address I use for this forum. Is our email address accessible by other forum members?

Is it a large email provider like G-mail, hotmail etc. And if so is it a simple address? Spammers will send out millions of spam emails in a blink of an eye all going to addresses which they have no idea if they are valid or not..... joe111@aol.com , joe112@aol.com ,joe113@aol.com .. so on and so forth. I mentioned this in another thread, I set up an account on my own site called a catchall which would receive any e-mail not addressed to a valid account. It quickly filled up with spam addressed to common names and I'm only a small site. You are more likely to have this happen on large provider because you have such a huge pool of valid addresses so they are targeted more.

No. But it could be a phpbb security bug. Can you pm/email me the spam email including the headers?

From what IP are you getting the spam? Several IPs?

I use Spamex and they are not simple addresses.

I started receiving them today. I will forward them to you.

All my email is forwarded to my Gmail account. I can't figure out how to forward the emails to you as attachment so you can see the headers.

i don't think any of my email addy's are spam free, lucky most is caught by the sites spam filters or my junk filters i created

Interesting. I too have received precisely two emails at my unique address. It seems apparent that there is a serious security issue.

My spam originated at the ipaddress: 201.81.93.253 with the following registration information (an excerpt)

Probably not this time.

I have updated the viewprofile which display the email in the forum but it could also be another hack that lists the entire users database. I might encrypt the emails, it will make it a bit harder to steal new email adresses.
