Software Required

I am currently working on a dvd project, what i would like to do is make a animmation clip.

I would like some advise on doing this, and what software would be good.

The animation i am i am working with is a splat of paint coming onto screen, make a 'plup' noise and then a blending into my logo.

Making the file output into a mpeg for my dvd first play

Is there any advise and software out there that i can help me do this.

Blender may do what you want (whole movies have been created with it). But it is not the easiest to learn...

I use a 3d program called Anim8or. It's a bit easier to learn than Blender, and will output avi video. Although not up to the caliber of Blender, it would likely be fine for what you want.
