    Does anybody know how to change Sony RDR GX355 from region 1 to another region, or to Region Free configuration?

    Most Sony players cannot be "hacked". The few that can require special hardware (special remotes) to access hidden menus. For the cost of the remotes, you could buy a few region free players.
