  1. I have 1.4GB .AVI file,
and i want to fit it to CD-R (700MB) by re-encode it to Xvid (i dont mind losing quality).
and it seems like VDub/MOD (i've tried them both) just dont want to limit the file size!
i mean, i calculated the bitrate with its calc and that what came up:

but at the end of the process i get 1.03GB file when much more bitrate!
    here:

i've tried to do it three times and got the same results!

i dont know what did i do wrong!

    does anybody have an idea?

    Thanks!

  4. And make sure you uninstall the old version (Add/Remove Programs) before installing the new version. Size problems are sometimes caused by installing over the old version.

Get the ac3 filter. An easier way to arrive at the same goal would be to use AutoGK to do the reencoding, if VirtualDub exposes to many settings for your taste.
