I ran out of TYs and am trying to cut back lately. My mom had spotted this deal at a CVS one day for TDK 50-pack DVD+Rs, something like buy 1 get 1 free(for about $20). Since she rarely needs to record media, she gave me 1 of the packs.
The TDK discs both look and feel high-quality, they burn well, and scan perfect for errors in DVDinfopro. Are these RELIABLE long-term though, what kinda media codes should i look for?
These look nice now but i'd hate to use a lot of them, and have'em pull a "Princo/Ritek" in the future.
Any suggestions/thoughts on this media would be appreciated.

Run away , as fast as you can , there rubbish since tdk outsourced .
Verbatim , or just about any other cheap $2 dollar bargin basement dvd-r's would be better than tdk .
Stay away from + , compatability issues with some burners and players , still . -
TDK coded discs are okay.
CMC coded discs are mediocre, results vary.Want my help? Ask here! (not via PM!)

Some drives are highly tolerant of CMC media, others are not. Hence your rseults may vary but will usually be consistant with a particular drive model.
Imation now owns the TDK media lines and wll probably be using CMC media consistantly (thats what they do with Imation brand).
There is probably more CMC media being sold at retail than any other manufacturer. -
i have had about 90% success rate with TDK
I am just a worthless liar,
I am just an imbecil -
The media code ID on these discs says: CMC MAG M01
So this is bad? -

Yeah i notice these discs during playback, also make the temporary occasional split-second "freeze". Like the way the riteks used too. Meh i just went ahead and ordered a 50-pack of TY from meritline:

First time i order from meritline before, it is a reliable website right?

Here in Hawaii there's a place that orders from rima.com but he charges triple of what rima does. I once asked the owner of that shop if he orders from rima.com and he played stupid/dumb to me and told me he never heard of them. I spoke to the manager of rima once who told me this shop orders from him all the time and he charges way too much.
