    Hello,

I'm looking for a player that will handle all kinds of codecs that will work with the Win XP MCE remote. IOWs the remote should make it pause, ff, frev, skip fwd or skip rev stop and allow selection of video files. Am I dreaming that there may be such an animal.

The Media center player does do fwd skip and rev skip (Replay) playing when tested playing a xvid. Strangely enough the time bar comes up when I hit fwd or rewind but the video just keeps playing. Pause and Stop work and I can browse videos to play so it is almost there. The back buton and most of its functions remind me of MS's Interface for the Dishnetwork Dishplayer DVR and the DirecTv Ultimate TV dual tuner DVR.

I have a feeling I'm stuck using the Media Center interface since the remote doesn't control windows functions.

    Thanks for any suggestions.

Have you tried MPC possibly? Or you could just fine tune and tweak WMP as a last resort.
