    I need to add music to a video file using Vegas. I'm looking into importing the VOB directly into Vegas, but I don't think it's going to work. I've tried converting the VOB, but it always looks terrible. What would be the best way to get it into Vegas without losing much quality?

    Conver to DV AVI:

    1) If you don't have it already, download and install the free Panasonic DV Codec.

    2) Get VirtualDubMod (also free). Open the desired VOB file in VirtualDubMod.

    3) Click: Video -> Full Processing Mode

    4) Click: Video -> Compression -> Panasonic DV Codec -> OK

    5) Click: Streams -> Stream List -> Right click on audio -> Full Processing Mode.

    6) Right click on audio (again) -> Compression -> No compression (PCM) -> OK
    6a) Or, for no audio, select audio with single click -> Disable -> OK.

    7) Click: File -> Save as -> [filename & location] -> Save

    This will give you a DV AVI with WAV audio.
