    Hi
I have bought a new HDR-HC5 Handycam. does anyone know how to send videos back to the camera?. its not a harddrive or dvd cam, video is recorded on dv camera.
i just wanted to tranfer few of the videos on my tape. i wanted to do it via a firewire cable.

  2. You need an editing program that can export via firewire back to your camcorder. Vegas Movie Studio versions back to 4.0 can do this -- they call it "print to tape". Current version of Vegas Movie Studio + DVD 6.0 is available for $75 more or less. Probably other programs can do this as well.

Note that in order to do this you usually have to render the video first to your hard drive (rendering often takes longer than real time) and then do it again but this time "print to tape".

For a DV cam, yes - I believe (suspect) so.

WinDV will send DV AVI files from the PC to a DV (tape) cam. And it's free and very simple to use.
