How to hook up a I/O Magic External DVD Writer? How do I tell if I am missing a card or a driver?

You don't need a driver, Window Xp & above will already have a driver for it. I also have the same DVD writer. Now if you don't have Xp, Than I don't know.......

It should work in windows 2000,Xp or vista by just plugging it in.If you have windows 98 you will need a driver. If yur drive came with a disc it should have it on there. Most of these external usb drives do include 98 drivers if not check their web page.

Thank you very much for reply. I have just started using this site and it looks good for "Dummies". When I try and set it up I get message #1-Dose Not Find: USB 2.0 TV Box and message #2 File Needed: file 'StkAMini.sys on USB 2.0 TV Box Driver Disk is needed. Driver CD that came with unit will not load. - Millie

Thanks again. I took it back to Circut City, FireDog,their teck help. The external writer worked fine with their CPU. A driver needed an update in mine. And it worked fine. I have not used it yet at home but will today. I am Windows XP, version 2002. Sincerly, - Millie
