    hello,
I capture my VHS tapes using a Canopus Dv-300 device into DV. When I configure the encoding (crop, brightness, etc) I **CAN** use the Preview button to see the movie (so preview can read DV) on the filters section. However, as soon as I click "Encode", it tells me that it cannot encode because this is a "encrypted VOB".

Again, I am converting normal (working in Mplayer and Quickime, iMovie) DV captured from a FireWire device to H264 and I am receiving the "encrypted VOB" error. I can open the DV just fine, even in FFmpegX preview.

The issue is that I am receiving this message for **ALL** (8 so far) captured DV video files.

The same issue is reported here:

I hope this is fixed some day ?

    thanks, Thomas

Have you tried saving the DV as MOV, then converting that?
