Basically I want to play my gamecube using my laptop as a monitor. I've gone around and tried several capturing programs figuring I'd just use the preview video, but the preview's resolution is tiny.

Anyone know of a program made specifically for doing what I need to do?

Not really practical in most cases because of the way you will be driving the screen. Instead of accessing it directly, you are running video through software to it.

You could try VLC, which can access streams and capture drivers, and display fullscreen. However, you expect it to look awful, because it probably won't be able to cap at full screen resolution, but something lower. If you run full screen, expect it to look soft. Also, don't be surprised if the image tears across the middle or lags behind the play. There is a reason most preview windows are small.
