  1. I put TMPGEnv plus 2.5 in my new PC w/ Vista Home Premium and when I compress to Mpeg the picture is black. What can I do?

    You could try to install ffdshow and after that give the directshow filter a higher priority in options->environmental settings.

  3. So by installing ffdshow it might make TMPGEnv plus 2.5 to able to read the AVI DV file?

    It might.
    You'd still have to enable the dv decoder, I don't think it's automatically enabled.

    You might want to give the canopus dv codec a try first.

    It's likely just a codec problem as mentioned. I use TMPGEnc Plus 2.5 encoder with Vista with no problems. I don't have any DV sources available at present to test it with them.

    I do have ffdshow that is part of the Vista Codec Pack installed. I don't usually install codec packs, but this one seems to work fine with Vista and causes no problems otherwise. http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?showtopic=66826
