    i was wondering will Xvid,Divx,X264 play in dvd player that is capable of playing MPEG4, as those formats are Mpeg4 if i understand correctly

    They are mpeg4 formats but most mpeg4 dvd players only suppports divx and xvid mpeg4 and not any x264 / h264 / avc.

    Parts 2, 3, 10 and 14.

    DivX/Xvid are part 2. x264 is Part 10 and avi has nothing to do with MPEG-4.
