    Hello. Just got a 950S with the 160 G harddrive, I'm pleased with the quality of recording, but have had a couple of glitches so far.

    First one might have been user error - the entry screen for timed recording is not exactly intuitive, and I ended up with a recording from channel 3 instead of 43. However, it was programmed at the same time as a few other entries (also on ch. 43), so I question whether it was my error or whether the entry lost its channel or not.

    More worrisome was one for last night: I had it set up to record a program, and when I checked in, I had a blue screen over the content it was recording, with this error:

    Code:
    assert((cgmsa_mode & 0xc)--0x0) failed!!
    ../../stream_reclayer/scrc/stream_reclayer.c
    Line2169
    Inside stream_reclayer_set_cgmsa_mode()
    It was supposed to record to the HD. I think I had it set for HP quality, or SP.

    Any ideas?

    I had the problem recur, and when I unplugged / replugged the machine, I then scandisk'ed it and then I had an error accessing the files on the hard drive. I had to back each file up and then format the HDD. I then copied everything back in.

    I just had the same problem again; I'm wondering if one of the files might actually be corrupt.

    The other possibility is that it's a hard drive failure.

    Any suggestions?

    there is a new firmware on the Daytek website that will probably fix this issue... could be from a corrupted data.

    also try a factory reset from the setup menu. if it still giving you that message then format the HDD

    If ever.. after having done all that you still have problems then contact the Daytek service center 1-800-294-9603
