Could anyone informed name an app to convert XVID to DVD. Want to watch my movie clips on DVD player rather than having to use the PC

Please name as many free apps as you can as I have several already but none that do this as far as I can see.

You could spend (waste) time converting XVID to DVD, or you could buy a Divx-capable DVD player and just burn your XVIDs as data CDs or DVDs. Most (if not all) people who do this have not looked back.

If you must convert, then ConvertXToDVD is well worth the money. It has a freeware predecessor DivXToDVD. AVI2DVD is also highly regarded here. Or you can use a dedicated encoder such as Quenc or freeenc, and coupled with some avisynth scripts, produce excellent results.
    If in doubt, Google it.

Nero can do it, but the result are extremely subpar IMHO.

But by all means give it a go and see for yourself
    If in doubt, Google it.

I second jimmalenko's suggestion of buying a divx-capable dvdplayer (which I did) but if you want to save money you could also use DVD2SVCD which does - in opposition to it's name - divx/xvid to DVD conversion (for the cost of lifetime). I've had some good results with this software. It's actually just a gui frontend for a lot of videotools. Used with Quenc it's totally free.

Use DVD Flick: http://www.majorgeeks.com/DVD_Flick_d5530.html It will convert the files and burn them to standard DVD format, and it'll do it fast!
