  1. AACS has already been compromised in at least three widely known ways, after DRM hackers posted on the Doom9 forums methods to retrieve and utilize volume, and later, processing keys to copy every Blu-ray and HD DVD movie released so far. The today a fourth method has appeared, as poster jx6bpm reports he was able to find the 'sub device key' of the PowerDVD playback software. That key identifies the player and allows it to decode AACS protected titles. He also mentions that WinDVD and even AnyDVD is hiding it better than PowerDVD. Oh well

In related news, Slysoft has released a new version of AnyDVD now claims to be able to back up Blu-ray discs in addition to HD DVD, when the volume keys of those discs have been located.

It's nice to see that the breaking of the encryption methods is at least somewhat cracked, hopefully soon it's broken wide open so that we don't have to deal with this garbage for too long.
