    For some reason WMP 11 wont play audio on some wmv files that I receive via email. It will play the audio on some but not all. Ive tried the ones that it wont play audio on in Koolplaya and they work no problems. Im assuming its a codec problem but which one do I need to fix?

    There is an extra codec pack available through Microsoft downloads that can fix some WMV playback issues.

    Any clues where I can find this? Ive tried MS downloads and checked the wmp section but cant seem to find it.

    It is the Windows Media 9 VCM installation. Technically it has nothing at all to do with your problem, however I have used it before to fix this type of issue

    I went to that page but all it has is the series of WM players and a plugin for Netscape. Im still not sue exactly which one Im supposed to download.
