NOKIA 9500..help required on dvd conversion

Dear All,,

i have just purchased nokia 9500 communicator and intend to watch dvd movies on it...i have smartmovie 3.32 installed.it doesnot directly convert vob to avi...however when i try to route dvd files thru LATHE and then convert thru smartm..there is aparent jerkiness in movies,,though picture quality/sound quality is superb,,,...so my question is how to convert dvd files to avi format for further conversion...also please not that i want movies FULLLSCREEN I.E 640X200 as 400x200 cover half screen only...

I have nokia 7710 that is also Series 90 phone and also using smartmovie and convert using this codec http://www.koepi.org/XviD-1.1.0-30122005.exe and the quality is just fine at fullscreen.
