    I've just got a dvd player which supports divx format ... so i want to know how
    can i burn subtitles to avi files then burn it on cd or dvd (can i burn it to a dvd , or do i have to convert it first ?) !
    do i need a certain format of subtitles (eg, srt) ?

    using sub2divx do i have to compress the avi again to add the subtitle ? coz i tryed virtualdub and i needed to compress the file to burn the subtitle .

  4. Most DVD/MPEG-4 players support and can play external subs for AVIs in a variety of formats, SRT being the most common. If your player manual doesn't tell you which it supports, maybe check the DVD player database at this site.

    To "burn" or "embed" your subtitles into the AVI requires reencoding (recompressing), something you'll want to avoid if possible.
