    The model is samsung dvd-p365 and I can't play divx movies that are 23fps... the image gets distorted and it loads about 40secs when I insert a disc with a 23fps movie. Those with 25fps work like a charm. Is it probably because it is locked on region 2 or what??

    Nope, no regions on divx cds/dvds.

    Can you play NTSC(often region 1) dvds without problem?

    Can you provide a sample so i can test?? Although i don't use ntsc.. i am from europe and my tv and dvd are set on pal...

    then you can create one using Nero Vision for example...
    download any trailer > make NTSC DVD > burn > test
