  1. Hello,

I am aware the AVIEdit has a great option that allows you to edit the AVI header of files.

Unfortunately, you can only edit 1 AVI file at a time.

Is there a program (preferable freeware) that can edit AVI headers including multiple files at one time?

    Thanks in advance

What specific information in the header were you planning on changing?

  3. The frame rate.

But I can't change it any other way, because framerate is actually based on a fraction. And the only way to do that is in the AVI header:

Yup, you can possibly try AVImaster . I think the program was recently abandoned, so give me a minute to find a link.

There are no links to it anymore, but here you go. Command line, IIRC.
    avimaster.zip

    Avimaster -fv29.97 *.avi output_*.avi

  5. Unfortunately that tool won't work for me. Not only will it not output the proper frame rate I want, but it will recopy over all the media.

29.97 isn't the framerate, but part of the fraction:

    2997 / 125 = 23.976

    Currently, most applications output at:
    24000 / 1001 = 23.976023976023976023976023976024

But that causes a sync rounding error to 23.98 (specifially in Premiere Pro). This also causes the audio to go outta sync.

So I need to change scale = 125 and rate 2997 (like the image above).

Currently, I'm using AVIEdit for this, but it can only do 1 file at a time. And I have LOTS of media, so I was hoping for a way to change all of them at once.
