Burn Issues Help!!!!!!

Hey all

Lately I have been having probs finishing a burn whether I used NERO,IMGBURN or RecordNow????

When I use NERO whether I copy a DVD or image file it starts and then somewhere during progress kind of stops\Freezes and I cant abort while DVd writer keeps going and is unstoppable...

I have to unplug Sony DVD writer from my Firewire port and then Nero shows me my abortion and DVD writer stops...

Sometimes when I first log in (Laptop) I burn 1 DVd and all is fine then cant anymore????

With IMGBURN around 70% of burning process the writer buffer speed goes to 0 and then nothing else happens and DVD burner keeps going and again cant abort burn till I unplug DVd recorder then I can close project...

The funny thing is I never get any error messages and when all seems frozen I look into my processes and shows app running normally and not showing (not Responding)

I installed and uninstalled Nero 6 and 7 and all and tried almost all...

I even reformatted a few days ago from scratch and same crap....

Today I uninstalled Nero and ran the Clean tool and re installed Nero and managed to burn a DVd properly then I tried another and Bam probs are back...

Please help me (Im losing all my hair)

Shut down all other programs that are running before the burn.

Defragment your hard drive.

Run antivirus software, anti spyware.

Something is using your memory, or you're having a hardware problem.

Oh, Yeah: What speed are you burning at?

16X is likely better burned at 8X on a machine with your specs.

I usually burn at 6X since the only choices I have are 6,8 or 16 (which is better)
