FULL DISC of “SAW 3 Unrated” w/ Freeware Tools to DVD-R

I realize there are a ton of these threads out there, so let’s please keep this short and simple.

If you reply to this thread, I am only interested in FREEWARE TOOL methods of backing up the FULL DISC. Please don’t suggest AnyDVD or CloneDVD, etc. I have gone to numerous “SAW 3” threads on this site and others, and have not been able to duplicate their claimed results. Getting the Movie Only is not a problem. The problem is getting the Full Disc to work, as the Menu Navigation somehow gets screwed up (some selected menu titles do not activate) or the disc just does not work (depends on the DVD Player).


My first attempt was with DVDFabDecrypter 3.0.7.0 followed by VobBlanker 2.1.2.0 to remove unwanted logos, warnings, trailers, stripping audio streams, etc. I then ran the files thru DVD-RB/CCE My second attempt was using RipIt4Me 1.6.7.0 / FixVTS 1.6.0.3 / VobBlanker 2.1.2.0 / DVD-RB/CCE and again, a no go.

Does anyone here have a tested and proved method of backing up the FULL DISC using only FREEWARE TOOLS?

I did it with RipIt4Me Version 1.6.5.0.

And DVDFab Decrypter has been updated twice since the version you mentioned, although i have not tried the last 3 version's on it yet.
I was just thinking about it the other day, i guess i'll try the last 3 version's on it tomorrow.

Been there, done that. Besides, DVDFabDecrypter 3.0.7.0 was the release that said:
3.0.7.0 (01/28/2007)
- New: Improved copy protection removal engine.
- New: Added full support for "Saw III" (US).
- Fix: Several minor problems.

I have tried it with the newest version as well as the newest version of RipIt4Me. It just does not work for a Full Disc backup.

Mazinz, have you personally made a Full Disc copy that works? If you have, I would appreciate a step-by-step walk thru of how to do it. If your only advice is to use DVDFabDecrypter, that does me no good. What I want is to remove all trailers, logos, warnings, keep only the 5.1 for the main movie and keep the featurettes while also keeping the menus. I do this step w/ VobBlanker. And yes, I know how to use VobBlanker. I have used it for a couple of years now with no problems. My Full Disc backups of this movie have either not been recognized by my DVD Players or the menu navigation is screwed up and do not work properly.

I actually wish I had not bought the DVD. I really don't care much for the movie. It is not being able to get this thing to work as a Full Disc copy that is bugging me. Many future DVD releases will likely include this type of encryption, so it's best to learn how to do it now.

Have you tried RipIt4Me full disc and then using PgcEdit to remove all the bohus pgc's? That's the method I used.
PgcEdit is a small but very powerful tool.

Hey I did it with RipIt4me at first I had dvdfabdecrypter as the default ripper changed that to the old dvd decrypter, FixVts, dvdshrink did the full disk and did movie only no problem. Will only work in 1click mode

amd 2400
2 gig ram
4 - HD 320 gig each

hate to bust your chops but my friend was having the same issue. I told him about the upgrade and gave him the link. He did so and was able to backup his copy (full disc mode) without an issue. SO once again USE THE LATEST VERSION. If it still fails this may point to something else other then the ripper, because the ripper does work

I ran it thru PgcEdit and it is now possible to do Full Disc. Thanks for the suggestion.
